__ Q: LET'S CUT TO THE CHASE! WHAT ARE YOUR RATES AND FEES? A: To make the space as affordable as possible, we distribute fees across a variety of channels (you'll see what that means, below). While we reserve the right to negotiate on a case-by-case basis, the following gives you a good sense of our fee structure. The following fees are current as of August 25, 2023. Weekly $3500 / WCC Member $3850 / Nonprofit, Independent Artists $7700 / For Profit, Corporate, Commercial 4-Day (Thursday - Sunday) $2000 / WCC Member $2200 / Nonprofit, Independent Artists $4400 / For Profit, Corporate, Commercial 1-Day $700 / WCC Member $770 / Nonprofit, Independent Artists $1540 / For Profit, Corporate, Commercial 4-Hour $400 / WCC Member $440 / Nonprofit, Independent Artists $880 / For Profit, Corporate, Commercial Other fees may include: $350 per-performance operations fee. Whenever you have a public audience or group in the building, we will assess this fee in order to provide trained front-of-house staff, including a manager-on-duty, front-of-house manager, ushers, and bartender. By way of example, if you are renting the space for an entire week, and have a performance on Friday, two on Saturday, and one on Sunday, you will be charged the per-performance operations fee for each of those performances, which in this scenario would come to $1400 total. $350 streaming / recording fee. This fee will be assessed each day you use our streaming / recording equipment. By way of example, if you use the equipment for two days, the fee will total $700. 10% facility fee, included in the advertised ticket price and paid by the patron. By way of example, if you as the presenter want to receive $10 in revenue / ticket, the advertised price will be $11 ($10 plus 10%). 10% handling fee, assessed in addition to the advertised ticket price and paid by the patron. Using the example above: if you want to receive $10 in revenue / ticket, the advertised price will be $11 ($10 plus 10%). The handling fee will be an additional $1 (10% of $10). In this example, the patron will pay a total of $12, and you will take home $10. We will cap fees at a total of $12. In the event you wish to offer all tickets at no cost to patrons, we will assess a $500 complimentary ticket buyout, as the event will still need to be "ticketed" through our box office services. $100 / hour exclusive use of the adjacent WORCESTER POPUP/, If you'd like to use both spaces and close the PopUp to the public, the fee is $100/hour. Additional Insured. We will ask you to add the Worcester Cultural Coalition as an Additional Insured on your policy. The fee will vary, and is set by your insurance provider. If you do not have an insurance policy, you can CLICK HERE/ for a short-term option. AV, LX and streaming / recording technicians, are available to support your event at $45 / hour each, with a 4-hour minimum per call, as well as stage hands at $35 / hour each. Please note that while you are welcome to hire your own designers and technicians, a house technician must be present whenever equipment is in use, and additional house technicians may be required -- for example, to use the genie lift. Grand piano rental is $350 / day, including one tuning, or $1,000 / week, including one tuning. Additional tunings are $150 each. Our instrument is a Brodmann PE212. On a case-by-case basis, we may assess fees associated with specific requests for your event, like security detail, or granting access to our dumpster for load-outs. Q: IS THERE REHEARSAL SPACE, TOO? A: Yup, we have a large, gorgeous studio waiting for your crew. While we again reserve the right to negotiate on a case-by-case basis, the basic rehearsal room rates are: Weekly (Up to 12hrs / day) $600 / WCC Member $660 / Nonprofit, Independent Artists $1320 / For Profit, Corporate, Commercial 1-Day (4hr - 12hr) $100 / WCC Member $110 / Nonprofit, Independent Artists $220 / For Profit, Corporate, Commercial 1-Hour $30 / WCC Member $33 / Nonprofit, Independent Artists $66 / For Profit, Corporate, Commercial Q: IF I RENT THE SPACE FOR A DAY, WEEKEND, OR WEEK, IS IT AVAILABLE 24-HOURS? A: The space is available each day of your rental for any 12 hours of your choice between 8am - 12midnight. Anything over 12 hours, or between the hours of 12midnight - 8am, can be negotiated at a minimum of $100 / additional hour. WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO BECOME A PRESENTER? A: Great question. Please see below for a basic overview. • First, you'll submit the preliminary application available on this page, under the "APPLY TO PRESENT" tab, below. • You should apply AS SOON AS you know your event date(s). • All applications must be received AT LEAST 8 weeks in advance of your event date(s). • The larger your event, the more lead time we will need. For example, Presenters looking to mount a full-scale theatrical production should apply at least 6 months in advance, while a Presenter seeking to hold a simple film screening or lecture might be successful applying only 8 weeks in advance. • If your event is within 8 weeks of today, check out our sister space, the WORCESTER POPUP/ -- it might be a better fit. • After receiving your preliminary application, we'll take a good look. If your event doesn't seem right for the BrickBox, we'll follow up with helpful feedback to that effect. If it seems like a match made in heaven, we'll follow up to learn more while giving you the chance to ask us questions, too. • If we decide to tie the knot, we'll draft a lease agreement and set up a date to sign. At that same time, we'll take care of other unsexy nuts and bolts like collecting your first payment, obtaining proof of your insurance, and setting dates for event-planning meetings. • Once the lease agreement is signed, we'll support your event every step of the way. • Shortly after your event's conclusion, we'll provide a final accounting and settlement, while tying up any other loose ends. Q: HOW DOES THE BRICKBOX SUPPORT PRESENTERS? A: In terms of personnel and services, we provide our Managing Director and Technical Associate, as well as all box office and front-of-house functions. We'll also plug your event on our social media channels, in our newsletter, and on our home page. In terms of infrastructure, we provide our theater, including modular seating, comprehensive sound and lighting packages, and a state-of-the-art projector and screen, as well as an AEA-compliant green room including washer/dryer, two AEA-compliant dressing rooms including bathrooms and shower, our public lobby, and public restrooms. Q: ARE WE ABLE TO SELL CONCESSIONS? A: Beer, wine, malt beverage and food concessions will be made available for your patrons and managed by our team. We will retain all revenues. Q: I'M NOT QUITE READY TO APPLY TO BE A PRESENTER, BUT I HAVE AN IDEA FOR AN EVENT AND WOULD WELCOME THE OPPORTUNITY TO BRAINSTORM. WOULD YOU BE UP FOR THAT? A: Absolutely! We love a good brainstorm. Shoot us an email at brickbox@jmacworcester.org with the subject line Event Idea and we'll set something up. Thank you! APPLY TO PRESENT
